Connecting to Nature & Grounding

Now is the time of year when we start to feel as though spring is just around the corner. We are beginning to feel our energy start to return, just as we are getting a glimmer of lighter days ahead. Those of us in tune with Mother Earth are sensing all that is going on beneath the ground. There is so much more activity now, with the earth working harder than at any other time, and we can feel our own energy and vibration beginning to quicken. There are many things we can do to not only raise our vibration but also give ourselves that much-needed energy overhaul after the stillness of winter.


Now is the time to get outside in the fresh air. As humans, we are not designed to spend all of our time indoors, sitting in front of a television or computer screen. Our ancestors would have spent much of their time in the forest, hearing the rustling of the leaves, breathing in that sweet smell of fresh air, connecting to the trees, and being part of nature. Feeling the sun's rays shining down on us, seeing the bright blue sky up above, and hearing the birds singing. All of this not only raises our vibration but also releases endorphins (the feel-good hormone) into our bodies, making us feel happier and more energized. One of the reasons there is so much more depression and anxiety than ever before is that many of us have lost our ability to connect with nature and ground ourselves.


Go outside and stand barefoot on the ground, feeling the grass beneath your feet. Imagine yourself like a tree with roots going deep down into the ground, feeling yourself literally earthing. This is an ancient practice. (When you think about it, we have only really been wearing shoes for a relatively short period of time.) Think about how happy we feel when we are on holiday, walking barefoot on the beach. We are grounding or earthing ourselves, connecting to the electrical charge of the earth's surface. Grounding helps release negative ions from our body while soaking up positive ions. Even just a few minutes a day will help you feel healthier and invigorated. The health benefits of this are incredible. We are boosting our immune systems, reducing inflammation in our body, and even helping to reduce pain. It invigorates our minds, awakening our senses, and even heightens our intuition.


As a psychic empath, doing readings all day can make me feel drained and tired. One of the ways I combat this fatigue is to end my working day by standing barefoot in the garden, feeling myself relax and releasing any negative energy back into the earth to be transmuted. I usually start my day with a brisk walk in the park, which really helps me awaken all my clairsentient psychic energy to connect energetically with my clients, as well as making me feel energized and ready to take on the day.
